The Lion's Club Orioles captured the 2009 Ancaster Little League Minor Baseball Championship on Sunday August 23 by defeating the Red Sox in a double knock out. The Orioles, who only lost 2 games all season, won two consecutive games over a rain delayed weekend with a 7-6 win followed by a 11-7 victory. The boys developed into a powerhouse team under the direction of first year coach Bob Pendlebury and assistant coach Ian Pellizzari. The dugout managers, Debra and James Pendlebury, worked hard behind the scenes to keep the team organized and ready to play.
Sam Coons, Luke Friedl,and Chris Pendlebury,pitched during the final two, championship games, with skill and accuracy.Jacob Pellizzari,Jack Ramsay, and Issac White kept control of the ball in field. Noah Meilleur, Austin Pacheco, Jacob Sartor and Alex Mazzad illustrated control and confidence when outfield. Ryan Murphy was away for the playoffs.
