Rookie Ball Challenge Cup
Written by Missy Bristol
Thursday, 09 July 2009

The Rookie Ball Challenge Cup this year was played over the course of  four days and each game was exciting. The level of playing has stepped up greatly and this will make for exciting playoffs this year.

The consolation game was a great match-up with each team holding the other to no runs for four innings of play leaving the score tied at four going into the sixth inning. Niether the Red Sox or the Pirates would quit however in the sixth inning the Pirates defeated the Red Sox 9-4 to win the match. GREAT GAME by both Teams.

The Championship game on the minor diamond was just as exciting, The Blue Jays took an early lead over the Rays. Going into the fifth inning the Blue Jays were leading with the score of 12-10, with two out in the top of the fifth the Rays scored four runs giving them a two run lead. The bottom of the fifth with two out and the tying run on third the Rays made a great defensive play to win the game.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RAYS.
